What is vision therapy & how can it help?

Vision therapy is designed to teach the child how the brain controls the eyes, to improve their visual skills and how to apply these new skills to improve reading, learning, concentration and attention.

Vision therapy is more than just simple eye exercises — it improves brain-eye communication and the effective operating of the child’s visual system.

Why could it be important for you?

The leading causes of blindness and low vision in the United States are primarily age-related eye diseases such as age-related macular degeneration, cataract, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma. Other common eye disorders include amblyopia and strabismus.

An eye problem could hit at any time. Some eye issues come with age while others may be a serious condition. If you’ve never had a problem with your eyes it can be easy to forget how important it is to take care of them. 

Dry Eye

What are dry eyes and dry eye syndrome?

Dry eye disease affects the layers of tears that cover your cornea. It happens when you don’t have enough tears or when your tears evaporate too quickly. Symptoms include burning, itching and a gritty feeling in your eye. You may need to try several different treatments, including eye drops and procedures, to find a solution that works for you.
